One more Halloween

I finally finished this layout. Adrienne and Ben did not get any really good pictures this year so had to make do with what I could get. Our family has had the crud big time the last 2 weeks. Poor Zade ended up at the hospital a couple of times, Dear hubby actually missed work and that NEVER happens so this has been on my desk for awhile waiting for a break to get back to the craft cave. Right now it looks like the worst is behind us.....Happy Dance!!
So here is the sketch #172 at Sketches in Thyme.
And here is my take......
The papers are all from Carta Bella Spooky and so are the workdstickers.
I drew the rocket on using MTC. and the buttons of course were from the stash.... the stars actually came from the dollar tree!  I have not put buttons on a layout in so long it was fun!

Thank you for spending your time with me. I hope today finds you healthy and gives you many reasons to smile.

Back again

I have become the world worst crafter/blogger. I have really been going through a rough patch and am not sure how long this return will last. I am truly hoping that we have discovered the issues and I can get back on track. So thank you for sticking with me and really hope to be sharing consistently again soon.
This is a double layout which I do not use often so they fight with me, but I am happy that I stuck with it and defeated this sketch ! This is the November double sketch at Stick it Down.
As soon as I saw this I knew these pictures were perfect for the sketch. Adrienne was having a tough time getting into Halloween this year which is not typical at all. She usually is the pumpkin carving queen but this year just barely got it done. The big boys were very into it and actively worked on theirs. Zade didn't like the feel of the guts at all which led to some adorable pictures. I am thankful that Ben captured the day so that I could do this sketch!!
The papers are a combination of Graphic 45 Hallowe'en in Wonderland and Carta Bella Spooky. Both are dug out of the stash. I am not a big fan of Halloween so it takes me awhile to use my collections up. The title is Neals way of saying carving pumpkins... just had to document that, he says the funniest things. It was cut with MTC.
The embellies were all dug out of the stash.
I used my favorite stampin up gorgeous Grunge set and Lawn Fawn fake tan to create the background paper.
Thank you all for stopping by. I truly appreciate each one of you that takes the time to visit my little blog.
May today bring you many reasons to be thankful.

Grand Day

We stay way too busy for our own good...... I do not get to spend the time with Jeremy and his family that I would like too. They recently bought a new house..new to them... and they are so excited. I decided we were going to carve out time for a visit before the calendar filled up. We went over the long Labor day week end and what a treat that was. The house is simply amazing. It is a great floor plan with lots of room. I am thrilled that they are going to have space to spread out  as the kids get older ( I tried and I do not have the ability to stop time I am sad to say). I enjoyed getting to spend relaxed time with all of them and even got to watch the first Auburn game of the season! Yep, it was a glorious trip.
They have a small park directly next to their house. It is very secluded and not used a lot so it is wonderful to get to have it to ourselves. I walked over with the kids and we played and swang away the afternoon. Does it get any better than that?
Unfortunately I did not get any really good pictures but decided the day was too wonderful not to document, so poor pictures it is. I love that I have a picture or two to remember my time with these 3 special ones. I encourage you to save and document even when the picture is not perfect. Often, it is the memory that counts not the amazing photography.
  So here is the layout
The papers are all from the Lori Whitlock Summer Bliss collection.
Also the alphas for the title and journaling along with most of the word stickers are from that collection.
Twine is maya road
Splatter stamp is from the Stampin Up Gorgeous Grunge set...(one of my favorites!)
The flip flops are jollee's boutique
The "family" sticker comes from jillibean soup
The embellishments are MME cut & paste.
I used sketch #113 at My Scraps and More

 And here it is
I want to sincerely thank you for spending a portion of your day with me. I know that each of us get to choose how we spend out time and I truly value yours. I encourage you to spend a portion of today making good memories, because tomorrow will be here too soon.
  Thank you

Coffee and Forgiveness

I saw this post on facebook this morning.....
I had never seen this acrostic before but,  I immediately  knew that I needed a new coffee mug today! So I spent a few minutes playing with MTC to get the file the way I wanted it, Then a quick trip to the dollar store. I couldn't decide between a mug and  travel mug so bought them both, after all it is the dollar store!

 This is the outcome

I look forward to using them and showing them off! I do not usually use items that broadcast my faith but just could not resist this one. Love the message so much and it holds COFFEE! I am also thinking gifts for pastor appreciation week?? I am truly happy that I dug the vinyl out today I had forgotten how much fun I have playing with it. Hope you will give it a try.

Thank you so much for stopping by my little blog. I hope today you will walk in total forgiveness as it is offered.

A star of a birthday!

My precious grandson Neal has always been challenged in the conforming category. He started school the beginning of August. We have all been very pleased with how well he has done. He is truly trying so hard.Today is Adrienne's birthday and he brought home The Star Student award. Happy Birthday Mom! Of course a picture was taken and It made facebook...thus Grandma swiped it and a layout followed. Yes I had to dig the papers out of the mountain on my desk but no time like the present and I am so happy to have been back in the craft cave for me. Yes I have mountains of pictures but I love nothing better than the day of layouts!
So I began with a little blog surfing for inspiration. I liked the September sketch at Stick It Down
I have been saving the last snips and scraps of the Boy Crazy collection from Echo Park. I have loved working with this collection but am also proud to have used it all up.This is the sketch
And here is my take!

I just saw the You Rule the School Challenge at Paper Issues. Think I will go ahead and link this one up!
Don't you just love that smile. He is so very proud of himself!  It makes my heart so happy to see him trying so hard!
I used MTC to create the title and to cut the pencils from a file that was in the MTC gallery. Everything else was just stash raiding. I need to do more of that lol.

Thank you so much for coming by to visit. I am so happy to be able to share again!
May today be filled with much happiness and joy.

Flutter by birthday blog!!!!

Danni is having a birthday and we are all here to help her celebrate!  She has set up this flutter by blog hop with all things butterflies and faeries just like during her wonderful Flutter By Wednesdays!  I am so very thankful that she included me in this hop.I really needed the push to create and share. I have been so very busy and have good intentions of sharing.... but........
I realized the other day that I needed a birthday card for my daughter. She has had a pretty rough summer and I wanted to do something special for her. So a butterfly box card fit the bill. She is my butterfly rising from a very dark cocoon. She brings brightness and light everywhere she goes! I am so very proud of her!
Danni is giving away 2  gift certificates to 2 lucky commenters. You have until Monday September 7th to leave a comment and be in the running for the prizes!

So here is my card.yes it has a butterfly or two!!
I use a cut file from svgcuts. I have the best luck with their 3 d files. I find that they are well laid out and their instructions walk me through the details. I had to color and draw a lot more than I am comfortable with, but I can honestly say I was not unhappy with the results. Adrienne loved it and that made it worth the effort. Thank you so much for hopping by.
Now Hop on over to Ashleys blog for more fluttering fun.... and don't forget to wish Danni a Happy Birthday!
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Number 3 and last numbered layout....

Ben risked his iphone to take this wonderful shot. The boys absolutely LOVED everything about the beach. They truly could not get enough of it. So this really captures vacation for them. I loved working with it. I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. And am going to add it at Jo's Scrap Shack. She allows 3 entries and with the inspiration pic of the sea I have plenty of photos to work with!

Here is the inspiration photo

Here is the sketch
This is my layout
I told you it was a fun picture.
All the papers are from the Fancy Pants Nautical collection.
All the cuts are from Miss Kates Cuttables. She always has a freebie of the day and also many adorable reasonably priced cut files. take a minute to check them out.

thank you so very much for spending time with me.
I hope that today your blessings are many.
Brenda

Vacation Layout Number 2

I am going to have to eventually stop numbering these layouts as I am still getting pictures sent to me from others. I know that when they send me a picture they are thinking it is layout worthy. This may be quite the volume.
This is one of 2 pictures that Ben took that absolutely were my favorites of all vacation. With all the great cameras there these were both taken with his iphone. I was so lucky to be able to watch the sunrise with dear Zade as he is  a morning kinda baby. And I am so very happy to have a layout to help me remember those special times.
I was inspired by the challenge at Kraft+ mustard explosion. Since yellow is my favorite color and this is my favorite vacation picture I just had to go for it. I love to see all the amazing entries in their challenges. The talent that is there is very inspirational. I can not begin to create at that level, but I always find that I step way outside my box when I attempt the challenges. So though mine are a hot mess, I am learning and growing and ultimately I have a layout that I like.
I am alsogoing to enter this at Jo's Scrap Shack. for Fun-Day Friday challenge. This is a new blog for me a nd I look forward to following along.
  Here is the inspiration piece

Isn't this a wonderful picture. I really enjoyed doing this layout though it is definitely the product of many mistakes but ultimately it achieves  my goal:  to showcase this wonderful picture. I really love the sunburst and will use that method again for sure. Also learned that I have much to learn when stenciling on a layout. But I am armed with some youtubes and ready to try again another time. And found that if the paint drops just are not right you can always smear them everywhere while trying to clean up the mess.
Thank you for the challenge and inspiring me to stretch and learn.
I hope that your day is full of inspiring moments.

First Vacation Layout

We were totally blessed last week to be at Cape San Blas Florida. Adrienne's in laws go every year for a family vacation. This year they had an extra bedroom and graciously invited us to go along. I am amazed at their awesome generosity. And it was such a blessing to have a weeks vacation with 3 of my grandsons. Right before I left my keyboard decided that I no longer needed some of the letters so I had to order another one. Thus I came home from vacation to a new computer with Windows 8.1 (which is new to me)and none of my files and my new camera had 600 photos to download. I finally have managed to get the new computer set up enough to edit photos and use my cutter, let the crafting begin!! Really got my fingers crossed that it will not take me another week to get the second vacation layout done.
Without further ado, I used this sketch from The Memory Nest
 And here is my take
This was the last day there and Jeff was catching fish fast and furious. This was the very first fish of the day. I love seeing the body language of the boys when they get excited to see the fish.. It wasn't long until he had caught so many they didn't even notice.
I used MTC to draw the fish background and also to cut the lure and the sign for the title. The papers are Lori Whitlock " A Perfect Summer". It really felt good to finish a layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing a moment with me. I am honored.
Hope today is filled with bright moments.

Wedding Banner

I think that banners have become my favorite thing to create. I especially like to make them for showers. I love that each one is customized to fit the person that it is made for. It is just fun to make it as personal as possible.  I recently made this one for a precious couple at church. They both are runners, so I was able to incorporate pictures of them running in this shower banner.I started with frames with a single heart and ended with 2  hearts pierced with an arrow.  I did the simple squares and sentiment in their wedding colors. I used MTC to create the polaroid frames. I wish that I had taken pictures before the shower so that I could add a better pic.

The bride loved it and that always thrills me!
Looking forward to starting on the next one!
Thank you so very much for stopping by!
I hope that you are working on something that truly makes you happy!

Hooray for the red white and blue

It is a linky party at Paper Issues.  I immediately wanted to do pictures of Adrienne and crew at the recent Braves game. I just love this picture of her with all her guys! I combined it with a scraplift Sunday also at Paper Isssues.
Here is the layout to lift
I LOVE it unfortunately this just totally kicked me.... I just could not get it to a point that I was happy..... And it was keeping me from moving forward with any projects..... Why do I fall in that trap??
Here is my Red White and Blue layout!
Definitely will not go down as one of my favorites but It is behind me and I can move on! LOL hoping to learn from this funk and not fall into the trap so quickly any time soon.
Hope today finds your mojo flowing!

Scapping Our Stash May Blog Hop

I love using up my stash. It always gives me pleasure to find hidden treasure in my craft cave. I am currently unemployed so right now my stash is my friend! You should have arrived here from Kelly Jeans blog. If not you need to go back and check out her wonderful take on pocket pages!
I recently took two of  my grandsons to the local animal sanctuary called Noahs Ark. It was truly a special day. They are homeschooled this year and will be attended school next year so I am trying to spend every moment I can with them . This day gave me many special memories to document.
I absolutely love the picture in the tree so it had to be front and center. They started climbing the tree to get to the peacocks that had flown up there. always fun to see a peacock fly! I used picmonkey to help me get my pictures to a 2x2 size.

Still kicking along

It just seems like I am spending less and less time in the craft cave. Currently all of my grandchildren are home schooled. Next year which in these parts begins August 5th, 3 of them will be attending school. This is going to drastically impact my life. And I must say this Grandma does not like change. So I am making every effort to spend EVERY minute I can with them. that being said I have lots of pictures that I can scrap while they are in school...sniff sniff...
Paper Issues had a scrap and chat with a challenge on their facebook page last night. I made this layout for their mood board challenge. I used sketch # 80 from Sketch-N-Scrap. I have been going through older photos for a project I am working on. I found these from 2011 and decided to play with them. That is always fun for me since I generally am a current scrapper.
  Here is the sketch
And here is my take

Thank you for stopping by.
Hope today is filled with laughter and joy!

Hair by "The Lake"

I watched a class at scrapbook.com on gelatos, I already loved my gelatos and this gave me some great ideas. I created this paper and then watercolored it with the gelatos. Learned a lot about this wonderful product and am happy to be able to use them in even more ways.
I loved these pictures of Trips hair at the lake. and this sketch from Sketches In Thyme  was perfect for them. I am still trying to spend no money on supplies and work on my stash, so this is a total hodge podge of embellishments. The turtle is a cut file from the MTC gallery.
The sketch
My layout
Have  mentioned I LOVE the wire thread. Yes broke my no spend rule and bought it in 5 colors and love them all! Finding so may uses for it!

I hope that where ever you may be there are sunny skies and many things to smile about.

Easter sunrise

Let's Capture Our Memories  posted an intriguing sketch earlier this month. When I got this picture printed I knew it was the perfect sketch for it. I dug deep in my stash for the papers and the flourishes I have been hiding them in the wedding box. I think the blue and yellow together symbolize the beauty that is Easter morning. So here it is
The sketch
My take
Thank you for stopping by. I hope today finds you counting your many blessings.

Whew , Glad this is off my desk!

This 2 page layout has really been difficult for me. I had certain parameters to work around and I just could not make it work. My husband recently went on an 8 day business trip to Switzerland.   Two of his best buds from work went with him. They had  ton of fun .All the pictures are pictures that my non photographer husband took with his iphone and sent me during the week. I wanted to incorporate as many as I could and the sketch at Lets Scrap Sketches helped me with that. Also I wanted to keep it masculine and the main embellishments had to be my very broken goose egg. In one of the photos is a market stand. Jeff knew that I would love to see the sidewalk market and did not realize that the picture had an Easter tree in it. so this one had to included. He bought me two handpainted Easter eggs for our Easter tree while there and the big goose egg did not make it home. I was determined to scrap the trip and have the embellies be parts of the goose egg.Jeff was heartbroken that it did not make it so I wanted to showcase it and preserve it the best I could. I am very relieved to call this one done and get to move on! I hope he likes it!
 Here is the sketch
Here is my take

I originally wanted to sprinkle around pieces of the goose egg but it was not pleasing me so I decided to make some round embellies using the pieces. I was very pleased with how they turned out. They got to Olten on Sunday morning and Jeff said that all the churches were ringing their bells. Kind of a dueling church bells. He said it was amazing. Here in the US we don't hear church bells much anymore. So churches had to be the focal point. Jeff loves the food so had to sprinkle that in too.
The journaling is hidden on one of the tags.
I am also entering this in the Mystic Mountain challenge at Lasting Memories
going to link up at Paper Issues   for their Prints Charming link up party.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me. I so love sharing with you.

Not done with Easter yet!

I have one more Easter layout done and pictures for 2 more! I just had to preserve the egg-citement Zade showed when he got his Easter basket. As the journaling states, he is clueless to what was in it but he knew that it was the same as Skyler and Neal's. He is in a stage where he wants.....demands... to have what they have. So he was beyond thrilled Easter morning.
I am entering this in 2 challenges.. PaperCraftersCorner Magazine Monday challenge. I loved the retro colors in the picture and thought they worked well for my photos. And of course it doesn't get much more spring than Easter! I am also entering it in a sketch challenge at Sketch-N-Scrap.
I was very intimidated by this sketch when I first saw it and did not even pin it. A friend in my yahoo group used the sketch and I loved her layout so decided to give it a go. You can check hers out here.
The sketch.....
My take......
All the papers are Bo Bunny Lemonade Stand. I have never had a border added to a picture before... These were poor quality photos with lots of blurring so I thought it would be fun to try with them. I am not sure how I feel about them?

Thank you for spending your time with me. I am humbled.

Easter take 2

I did get some of my "Cinderella" chores done today so took the opportunity this afternoon to scrap again. This is another one that just was not going to together for me. I kept throwing stuff at it but... Decided to walk away and call it done. I have a wonderful memory scrapped and that is a victory.
I started with a sketch from Sketchabilities  The design team there is beyond amazing. So much talent!
Here is the sketch
And here is my take

I am also going to enter this at Picture This. The challenge was one photo, corners and splatters. I think I will link it up at Paper Issues too.

Thank you for stopping by. Hope your blessings are many.

Easter take One

I am feeling so incredibly blessed. This is my third week of unemployment. I have been trying to tackle my out of control to do list around the house..ugh today I just wasn't feeling it so decided to scrap instead..Yep made a mess instead of getting ahead.....
I have felt that my scrapping has been in a "box" lately so trying to do some new things to break out. One of the "box" things is somehow I had gotten to where I always started with a sketch and tried to make my pictures work, so no sketch for this one!! I used zero enamel dots on this...... that was HARD! Well, without further ado here is the layout.
I am going to enter this in the Scrap Our Stash Challenge. The challenge is to use the word S_T_A_M_P
  S-Stamp, stitching
 T-twine  thread
 A-arrow
 M-matting
 P-Pattern Paper
I am also linking it up at Paper Issues EGGs-cellent ADD-ventures link up party

I had so much fun making this. It is a reminder to me that even when I have no inspiration JUST START. This is soooooo far from where I started it is almost comical...And I Loved working with my gelatos in a different way. (blending with damp fingers)I will definitely be doing that again.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope today finds you feeling blessed.

Sparkle and Shine

I love this challenge blog and am so happy to have had time to play along. I was told last night that my job has come to an end. I am sad but relieved all rolled together. But I know that God has a plan and if I seek after him it is all going to be great.
So today I got to spend lots of time with my grandsons and even stole a little time in the craft cave.
I am so excited to find time to create a card for the challenge at Sparkle and Shine. I really loved all the inspitration from the design team at Winnie & Walter.
Here is the sketch
And here is my take
This is the first time I have used a lawn fawn die and I am so happy with it. I loved the stitched look so much. May have to invest in more!!!.... LOL maybe it would help me use up some of this paper.....

Thank you for taking a moment to visit me.
Have a blessed day!

Kraft Plus

I absolutely love this site!!! The challenges and the inspiration from the DT are awesome. But to me the greatest thing about this challenge blog is the quality of the entrants work. I was blown away by the amazing layouts last month  in their first ever challenge and so far the month of March has not disappointed. I hesitate to even add mine because it is a hot mess... some by design some by frustration. But it is mine and the day is documented!
Amanda had sent me a picture of this banner for Trips half birthday and I never got one made so decided to make it for a layout. The picture of the banner was the color inspiration. And then just kept adding. And of course the challenge this month is glitter so I got to bling it up!!!  Here is the sketch

And here is my take.....

Thank you for taking a moment to see my take on the challenge. Don't I have the cutest grandchildren!!!!!

Hope for you a day filled with many wondrous moments!

A LAYOUT!!!!!

I have so struggled recently trying to get a layout complete.Just nothing I did made me happy enough to add adhesive to it.  I had a block of time that was not designated this morning so decided to re visit it with fresh eyes. Still not in love with it but I find often they "grow on me". But the fact is I have another one for the books and hopefully the mojo will stay with me this time lol. I am also linking it up at Paper Issues Enamored with enamel link up party
I followed sketch #114 at Let's Capture Our Memories. Here it is

And here is my take... This is my beautiful youngest daughter Amanda and her precious boy Trip. It was taken at my house at some point during Christmas. She just looks so happy!

I used mostly Authentique Hope collection papers.
The flowers are all Paper Studio and the hearts are Teresa Collins.
And of course my MTC for the frame and the title.

Thanks for taking the time to look.
Hope your day is sunny and bright!

Mojo Monday 386

Wow it has been forever...years.. I think since I have participated in a card sketch challenge, but lately mojo has been uber hard to come by and I want to so badly get it back!! So trying things that I have never tried or that I have left behind to try and get back in the craft cave.
Here is the sketch it is "Tall and Skinny"

And here is my card

I got these burlap flowers at Hobby Lobby recently and could not wait use them. Added burlap on the back layer and all papers are from a Pebbles pad called Family Ties.. I have no idea when or where that got added to my stash but I love the blues and yellows!

  Thank you for stopping by.
I hope today finds you smiling.

Double Birthday

Welcome to the Scrap Our Stash bloghop from Practical Scrappers! ! I hope you arrived from Kristina's blog Mamas Sanity.
If not you need to go back and check out the blog hop from the beginning! HERE
Things as usual have been beyond crazy hectic.... but after much ado and should we or shouldn't we for the party due to illness and weather forecast. It is now one for the history books. Due to Adrienne's surgery and Zade and Skyler being sick it is a for sure scaled back version and a much more low key party than originally planned.
The theme that Skyler wanted was how to train your dragon. Adrienne decided to go with a store bought cake which was a great idea considering the month really just fell apart.
So on to a few pictures of the few things that I created for the party.
First off the photo spot for the smash cake. She took white plastic tablecloths and taped them up them we taped on the banners. (disclamer... I had to buy a few sheets of paper for this as there were not enough in my stash)  It worked beautifully and I have a great place in my house to execute it. Zade has been really sick so not his usual jovial self and really was not in to the cake. So the pictures do not show his personality. I loved the photo spot though and know that it will be repeated.

His nursery is Pooh so since he did not have a party themed I made the card Pooh themed. I still can not believe that I am making a first birthday card for this precious little guy!
The pooh is from the classic pooh collection... yep way back in the stash. The shaker balloons were a relatively new addition to my stash. I saw them and had to have them and they definitely worked on this card. The sentiment was drawn on using MTC. And believe it or not the bakers twine is from Dollar Tree!

Now to the "How to train your dragon" portion of the  party.

Here is the store bought cake.

And here are the banners. They were originally suppose to be outside so up against my curtains was not the best showcase.....
..

Believe it or not All this paper was from my stash.... I am a sucker for the stacks on sale at Michaels. The jewels on the helmet are from way back. the ribbon is part of a huge roll that I bought 3 years ago for Adrienne's wedding Thank you notes
And my fav His birthday card. I am so in love with box cards

I am truly not sure what I was thinking when I bought that green glitter paper!!! It was bought when I first started playing with paper and I am glad to finally have a chance to use it! I used some print and cut figures and then everything else from stash including some of the first colors of distress ink I bought!!!

I hope you have enjoyed a brief glimpse into my crazy, hectic wonderfully blessed life. I hope to see you here again soon. Now you must leave and head to  Ruth's blog. She is a personal friend of mine and so very talented.  I know she is going to have something wonderful to show you!

I you have managed to stick it out this for I have a little giveaway. I had hoped to make it out to shop but it was not on the agenda so I am offering a 10 gift card.. winner can chose Hobby Lobby Joanns or Michaels. To be eligible just leave me a comment telling me something crafty that just makes you smile, a favorite product, something you created or a memory for example.

Have a wonderful week end , do at least  one thing that makes you truly happy!
