Memorial Day blog hop

Welcome, aren't these cards awesome! It is wonderful that all these talented people are sharing their creations today.
I have a heart for this organization as an ex military wife. My husband was in the army in the 70s and he spent 13 months in Korea. Communication was certainly not what it is today!! I was a lonely 19 year old about to have her first child without a husband nearby.   It would have been  so amazing if he had been able to send me one of these gorgeous cards. I missed him terribly. So I try to remember the feelings of being separated from my loved one when making my cards to be sent home.I hope you will join me in making cards for this worthy organization.

The first sketch I used was 58
This is the first card I have EVER made that is 100% paper..... no ribbon, flowers, or bling!!!

I made this one also and it is so totally different I wanted to add it . It follows one of the bonus sketches B-4. (could not get a pic to import grrr. You can find it and a TON more here.

Thank you so very much for joining me today.
Please take a moment during this Memorial Day week end to remember those that have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom.
Blessings and Peace.

Really did love this sketch!

I loved this sketch  from Life Paper Scrapbook so much I have done  second layout from it. I began the tedious job of organizing YEARS of pictures and found some of Olivia's first birthday (she is almost 12!!!). This was the only year that we were able to have both families together to celebrate so I really want to document that time  (yep there will be a few more layouts to come!)
Here is the sketch again....
And here is my precious Olivia.......

Thank you for taking time to stop by and visit.
May your blessings be many today.

Another new site (to me)

I recently stumbled across another  site that is new to me The Sampler Kit Club. I have not purchased a kit but love what they are creating with this months kit on the site! There is also a card and a layout sketch challenge. Here is April sketch.

And here is my layout.

Love those scrabble tiles and they are so Amanda! She and Tim are big game players and she is a literature major so it just fit. Love working with Authentique paper! This is a combination of the Hope and Loyal collections.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Don't forget to count your blessings.

I recently discovered a site that I absolutely love. It is crammed with great ideas. I adore the May sketch so much that I am getting ready to start on the second layout from it LOL... but I digress.... The website is Life Paper Scrapbook. This is the May sketch.

Here is my layout.

Neal is such a character I could scrap him everyday... This is him at Adriennes wedding show off his moves.
Thanks for stopping by to visit.
I hope your day is filled to the brim with blessings.

Doubly challenged

This is going to be a quick post as I am still trying to recouperate from all the chaos that replacing the dead washer has created. Boy am I spoiled...   Enough said!
I am in a small yahoo group that is doing a 30 in May challenge, Yesterday the prompt was boys... I have been wanting to scrap this picture for a few weeks now so just did it!  The picture quality is poor but just had to document this. They have so much fun singing and Neal is a true character. Definitely something I want to remember. I am also going to enter it at About A Boy. the challenge for May is boys will be boys. Also at Scrap Your Story the challenge is too journal. I so rarely do much journaling that I simply could not pass this up!
   The layout.

the journaling is hard to see on such a shiny background but it is written between the lines on the music.
"Rockin it in the living room! Neal truly has the rockstar stance, everything from the stomping and screaming to grabbing the mic stand! March 2013"
Thank you so much for sharing your time with me.

To blog or not to blog?

I am going through a "mood" "phase" or "season" that I am hoping is going to lead to some positive changes in me. So I have been seriously considering giving up blogging, as I have become quite inconsistent...... but on the other hand I want to embrace it with abandon. So I am going to ponder and seek advice for awhile and then will go one direction or the other, because the blog as it is just does not bring me happiness.
Layout A Day had a challenge on the facebook page today to use up your stash. You could link up a picture so thought I would for fun. I have been trying to work on making cards in 30 minutes or less so I can actually send more. I thought this would be a chance to make a quick card.
  Here it is!

I know those flowers are crazy. I bought them over 2 years ago and every time I drag them out I think "What could I have possibly been thinking?" Yet I kept them. So now some have actually made their way to a card!.
This however is the first time I have used this embossing folder. It is Geo Flowers from the Paper Studio. Also a first for me is making the bow out of a different ribbon. I have never really had the guts to do that but I am okay with it and may even learn to like it over time.

Well off to wait for the appliance delivery man..... never been so excited to spend my afternoon doing laundry!
Hope you day is fill to the brim with blessings!
