Love Bugs

This is the first ever challenge at Creative Cutter room. The theme is love bugs. I created this card for my grandchildren. I know it is a bit crowded (so is their house lol) but I have to represent everyone. I have also discovered that with kids the tackier the better. I really love how the papers came out and will reuse the same layout with a less busy card soon.
The bees were cut from the create a critter cartridge.
The wings and antenna are coated in yellow stickles
The green paper is from dcwv flower shower spring stack
The polka dot paper was a free download from Pink Igloo designs
The heart paper is from ME and my big ideas
The ribbon is Offray
And of course the biggest bee is on an action wobble!!

Hoppy Birthday

My Action Wobbles are here. This is my first card using them and I can see with 5 grandchildren that I need to order more!!
This is a card that I did for the http://www.cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com/ challenge this week. The challenge was to do anything with a birthday theme and use peachy keen stamps if possible. Here is my take. I am going to try and give a bit more detail as requested (blush blush)
The frog, dragonfly and grass were all cut from the create a critter cartridge
The frog body is paper from DCWV flower Shower spring stack.
The water is from DCWV photo stack 2
The dragonfly wings are turquoise stickles
The dragonfly face is peachy keen everyday characters
The sentiment is from Lots of pun a Joys life stamp set

Sympathy card

This month at http://www.kandrewdesigns.blogspot.com/ Kristal has a challenge to do anything that includes a bird. Well, I was thinking of all the fun ways I could approach this. This morning I found out that my uncle had passed away and my focus changed. We are a big birding family so a bird for the sympathy card was in order. The hummingbird is cut using a file that I found in the MTC gallery. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Card for Kids

This is a quick card for OWH cards for kids challenge. This is the first time I have used an svg from Lettering Delights. It was a breeze.

Birthday Challenge

This is a super simple card for the Pink Stamper birthday challenge.
I cut the flowers from white card stock and added Bic markits and glimmer mist.

Dryer sheet???

I wish I could take a better picture, this came out nicer than the photo implies. This was just a fun diversion I have a dozen other projects I had planned on working on LOL) I really like the affect of the dryer sheet over the colored card stock. And it smells like lavender!!

too simple

If you have managed to find yourself here from my messed up OWH post sorry!! Not sure what my malfunction was today....Think I got too simple on this one LOL Started 3 other concepts and finally decided just to go with super simple. The good news is that I got more practice at a card style that I can work on at work. Thanks for the super easy sketch.

Well, life sure has it's twists and turns. My precious daughter who lives over 500 miles away from me is really struggling. She has 2 absolutely precious boys 1 and 2. She has made a series of not so good choices and finds herself in need of some extra mothering. I took an unplanned 8 day trip up to help her out. The big bonus for me was lots of time with the boys. I miss so much being so far away sniff sniff.. So I was very blessed to be able to just pick up and leave. I was really sad to leave to get home to return to work. I am committed to make sure that I take off more time for her in the next few months.
So today I scrapped one of the everyday things that I was able to capture while I was there.
This is the first time I have ever used a collage in a layout. It is also the first time ever I have gone from ordering the pictures to a final project in just a couple of hours. I was determined to have something I liked before going to work. Though it is not my usual style I am ok with it.
The toys were cut from paperdoll dress ups except the dinosaur from create a critter

Yucky cookie

My youngest grandson Neal got caught eating the cinnamon "cookie" ornaments on Grandmas tree...... The gingerbread men are recycled gift tags, I had made at Christmas. I used the joys of the season cartridge. Just loving puff paint and glitter. The journaling was lengthy so I hid it behind the house and you pull out santas boot to access it. This was just plain fun to do!!

2 layouts in one day. Woohoo!

Can hardly believe I had such a productive "snow" day. I know 2 pages in a day for many of you is no big deal but for me it is monumental. I am never happy with my work so I keep rearranging and changing for days before I ever get the glue out. I think that is why I lean toward card making because you have to finish and get it to the recipient. So as part of my 2011 resolutions I am trying to get some layouts done without trying to get them "as good as I possibly can" So I did finish 2 in one day. They were both very simple but I am able to call them complete and everything is glued down LOL

Another first for 2011

This is my first easel card. Wow are they easy and cute!! Think this will be a go to for me when in a hurry. It is an easy card to just let the paper lead you.

My first card from a sketch!!

Here it is it is for a challenge for Operation write home. I am trying to take stock of where I was this time last year, you know not knowing that there was 12x12 paper and that you had to use a special adhesive for scrapbooking ie not elmers glue!! As I reflect on how much I have learned this year, I can try to map out some "crafty" goals for 2011. This is my first on the try list. I have taken an online class and made a scrapbook layout from a sketch but I have never tried to make a card from one. When I looked at the blank sketch I was very intimidated but as soon as I started looking through my paper I had a plan come together. Hmmm do you think I should put organized the craft room on my 2011 list............
