A very special time

This year on my birthday I came home from working all night to find a hand cut red heart on the coffee maker.....yes my hubby knows me well..... The heart  instructed me to look in another location and then another... After 16 hearts that were super sweet, With tears streaming down my face, I found a gorgeous sapphire and diamond ring. Yep, after 38 years he still know how to shock and amaze me. I am truly blessed! So I had to scrap this special day!
I used the recipe from Paper Mixing Bowl for this month.

I layered papers under the pictures.
I journaled on a photo of a postcard.
I have "coffee rings" and splatters.
I used hearts and flowers.
I used 3 photos!
I think that pretty much covers the recipe!

All papers are Tim Holtz  not sure which stack as the covers are missing......
The flowers are Prima.
The splatters are October afternoon sprinkler color swivel chair.
I created the calendar, tic tac toe and title tag  in MTC.

Thank you taking a moment to visit my blog.
Hope today is filled  with happy moments.

Baby Shower

It has been crazy busy. Two more days and then it should go back to just busy for a little while. today is a baby shower for Katie and absolutely lovely lady who goes to my church. She is expecting her second child very soon so today is a baby shower. These are the projects that I made for it. I used a free file from Birds Cards.  For the prams. They were very easy to cut and are absolutely adorable! I just hope Katie likes everything!

A new Challenge blog!!

I am so excited for the launch of a new challenge blog on March the 1st. I have been saddened to see several of my favorites close up shop recently. I absolutely love doing challenges as it has really helped me to grow outside my box when papercrafting. So I wanted to share a link with you....love the name ..... Scrap Your Story Challenges. There will be a new challenge every Friday. Can't wait! Go over and check them out and help spread the work for a chance at a giveaway prize.
  Hope to see you there.

Balloons!

I have been asked to help out a lady at church, she is going to teach women at the Shining Lights Ministry the art of card making. So I made several different cards that I thought would be relatively easy to duplicate.  She will be the ones she wants to learn, then I will teach her the skills needed to get them started. Not sure how it is going to work but know that if God is in it it will be a blessing. I am very excited for this opportunity to give back a little bit. I also know what a Godsend papercrafting  has been for me, I hope it will bless these ladies as well.
Any hooo. this is one of the cards I made for her to look at. It is very cas. But it definitely fits this challenge at  Stuck on u Sketches The challenge was to use die cut balloons on a project. Even though I cut my hearts on a die cutting machine they could purchase a punch and do them easily. I am trying to think of things that will not have too much of a start up cost while we see how this goes.
...... and here it is
Thank you for stopping by.
Hope today brings you many reasons to smile.

Creative Scrappers

A friend of mine sent me a link to this weeks Creative Scrappers sketch and I knew that I had to play with it!. With so many boys in my life talk bubbles rock! I can not believe it has been 2 weeks since I blogged! I have gotten a few layouts done and several cards so will probably drive you crazy this week LOL. With no further ado here is the sketch
And here is my take. It is pretty simple.

So here it is....the papers are from My Minds Eye new release Boy Crazy. It is so much fun. The hi top tennis shoe and other embellies are  from that line too. The speech bubbles were created in MTC. And of course I am loving the new enamel dots!

Jeremy and Ashlie

My sketch World is having a 7th birthday celebration with a new sketch for 20 days in February. This is a layout from the sketch for Feb. 1. I used the last of my photo booth shots that I will scrap. This is Jeremy and Ashlie. I do not get to scrap pictures of them very often simply because we are in a season of life that we do not get to spend nearly enough time with them. So this is very dear to my heart.
  Here is the sketch
And here is my take

It is quite straight forward but it makes me happy.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a blessed day.

My special place

This layout is a way for me to celebrate just how blessed I am. One of my yahoo groups had a challenge to use a photo of a special place and journal about it. This is a window seat in my bedroom. Jeff built it for me shortly after we moved in. It is wonderful because it is hidden away and gets lots of sunlight or moonlight. I spend time there praying, crying, reading, and just chillin'. My hubby is so good to me.
This layout was for the challenge at Sketch with Color. I loved the color palette and it worked so well with my space.

And you were to use a doily.

Starting the month off right!

Yep, in my opinion I am starting it off right. not accomplishing a lot on my to do list though, so not so sure hubby will think so. Anyway, I did a layout for 2 challenges. Lasting Memories has a challenge to use a border. And I used a sketch from Artful Delight that is brand new today! It is also a biggie for me because I went from blog surfing to picking out picture to finished layout in a morning. I know some of you are snickering but for me that is a big deal!  I am soooo slow............
  Here is the sketch

And here is my layout.

For some reason I could not get a good picture (not that any of mine are good) but tried in several locations and just was not happy with any of them.
All the papers are from Colorbok Antique Paperie as was the happy sticker
Family is a rub on from DCWV Daydreams
The lace is Melissa Frances 1962 embellishments
One flower is Prima the other 2 are Martha Stewart.
