Getting Cricky 50 Blog Hop
Welcome to the Getting Cricky 50 Blog Hop.I am so happy that you have stopped by. This is brought to you by K Andrew at Getting Cricky. She is moving cross country and wants to celebrate her road trip. If you arrived here from Always Crafting then you are in the right place if not hop on over to Getting Cricky and get started on your road trip! At the end of this post there is some blog candy so please check that out before you hop along.
Let's get started.I am representing the great state of Georgia.
Georgia offers a little bit of everything. From the Atlantic Ocean and it's barrier islands and the historic town of Savannah to the southern most part of the Appalachian trail in the Blue Ridge mountains, and great shopping and entertainment in Atlanta, there is something for everyone. Georgia boosts 64 State Parks encompassing all areas of the state. These parks offer everything from golf to primitive camping. This is an awesome way to have a very affordable family vacation and see Georgia. Many parks have lodging that will please even the non campers. One such park is Amicalola Falls State Park. There is so much to do here and all just a smidge over an hour from Atlanta! There is a mountain top restaurant and lodge, plenty of camping spots and trails galore. There is even a 8.5 mile trail that leads to Springer mountain to access the Appalachian trail. And of course I must not forget the falls!!
This park is absolutely spectacular in the fall, but beautiful all year round. I think I am going to have to get this in to my calendar soon!
My favorite project is actually my favorite file. I bake goodies often and am forever looking for containers to give some of them away, especially when it is just a little bit. (Yeah it looks so lost on a plate and so bad in a baggie.....) I got this file during the Christmas cyber crop over at the MTC forum. It was a challenge posted by Dana of SVG and MTC Files I modified it by putting the heart in the front. I also cut it down to a size that would work on a 8 1/2 by 11 paper for the smaller box. I just find that it is so easy just to whip out 2 sheets of paper and customize my container in MTC! It is a super file and so easy to make fit many needs! The big box has some bath goodies for my DIL for Valentines Day and the small one is full of candy.
The large box is heidi grace minidot paper
The smaller is from a free downloaded paper from Pink Igloo Designs I also used their paper for the tag on this box.
As for the file it can be found at SVG and MTC Files
Well ,now it is time for the blog candy! I am going to be giving away the Mini Monsters cartridge
Just leave me a comment and tell me how you could use these cute boxes. Please make sure you leave a way for me to get in touch with you. I will pick a random winner on Monday February 14th. Do not forget to leave a comment on everyones blog (you have 3 days to get across the country)to be eligible for a ton of grand prizes from our AWESOME SPONSORS!!
Scrap N Tote, Scrap N Easel, Cri-Kits, Creative Charms,
Memory Miser, Scrappy Chic Cafe, Loralie Designs, My Pink Stamper, Peachy Keen Stamps, Cricut Town,The Scrappin’ Table, Piktails, Renaissance Ribbons, and Pink by Design.
Also, I am going to add a second giveaway. The 12th is my birthday and so I am going to give one lucky follower a Birthday gift. I currently only have 13 followers so the odds are good!
I found this sweet ribbon in Hobby Lobby in springy colors for you, in my opinion you can not have too much ribbon!! This winner will also be chosen on the 14th
After you leave your comment (button at the top of the post lol can't figure out how to move it) hop on over to Saving MY... to continue your road trip. Happy Hopping!!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful waterfall!!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of those folks that will buy something at the store and put it in their own dish to make it look like they made it? The boxes could be used the same way. Buy cookies at the bakery and box them in your own package and hey who would know. Yep I confess... I am not a baker at all and I am guilty of re-packaging but nobody is ever fooled becasue they all know me and appreciate that I do not put them through the torture of eating my cooking. LOL
That was a real brain teaser trying to find the comment button, LOL. Love your boxes, how about putting chocolate covered straweberrys in them...yummy! I am now a followers, thanks for sharing your history lesson.

Love the boxes! I also bake a lot (with 9 grandchildren I better...LOL.) I would use them for baked goods. I mean, sure you can use them for a present wrapping, a handy way for them to deep all their pencils and crayons in, even would be a good bug box (don't ask!) but as I said, I am always sending them off with something and it sure is a lot nicer than baggies. Oh..the bigger one looks a good size for a packed lunch when we go out for the day. Well, I am sure you didn't want a book so thank you for sharing your state. I am a follower.

Happy Birthday and hello from Louisiana!! I love Georgia although I have only driven through there a couple of times on my way to North Carolina and Virginia. I would love to come and visit one day and see those beautiful falls. I would make the boxes with Christmas paper and fill them with small stocking stuffer gifts instead of using a stocking (we don't have a fireplace). I would decorate them with a stocking on front of course :-)

For the life of me I could not find where to post a comment. But I finally found it. In my quest to find the comment box I saw your awesome diaper cake. How stinkin' cute that was!! TFS info about Georgia and your project. I like to bring treats to the ladies in my office and I also try to remember special occasions in their life. Those boxes would be perfect. TFS. BTW, I'm your 146 follower. Congratulations!

CUTE boxes. I have a 6 yr old and always like to make treats for her 1st grade class for holidays. She's got Celiac's disease, so we can't just purchase cookies to share. These boxes would be adorable packaging to put the treats in. Just different paper and embellishemnts for each holiday. NICE!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!! Lots of cute ideas! Off to complete the hop...

ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog. Isn't it a small world we live in. Yes, we probably have passed many times on I-20. Don't you just hate driving on it in Alabama. There are so many wrecks on it that it is frightening at times. Other than the usual JoAnn and Michaels, are there any good scrapboking shops in the
ReplyDeleteFayetteville-Peachtree City area? My sister would not know because it does not interest her.
Congrats on the great blog hop. You really gained a bunch of new followers! Have a great day.

ReplyDeleteHello from Ohio! I used to live in Georgia before I moved here so I know what a great state it is! I miss it! I love the boxes you made too, just in time for Valentine's too. That is what I would use them for, but you could change your paper colors and use them for any holiday or occasion. I would have lots of fun decorating them for Halloween since that is my favorite holiday! Thanks. jlm26@aol.com

A little tricky finding where to leave the comments, but actually, I like it better than what I usually see. The bag toppers are so darling, and I loved your photos and description of Georgia. I drove through once on a business trip and my impression was "gotta come back and spend some time someday."

Georgia's on my mind! We pass through Georgia on our way to Florida, and its always been pleasant, however I never realized the gorgeous waterfalls it has. I want to come visit for sure. We are big campers so maybe this summer we can come explore.
