Life Paper Scrapbook

I managed to get another sketch done. I saw this one and thought of how I wanted to use it, then could not for the life of me remember where I saw the sketch. But a friend in a yahoo group spotted it and I happily finished the layout. So here is the January sketch at Life Paper Scrapbook.I love this site and will definitely go back! And totally love this sketch!
And here is my take. We had a very" disjointed" Christmas this year so pictures are just not great. Having many small ones really helped me to scrap them with out showcasing them.

Here is my take.....

Thank you for spending your time with me.

Another challenge down....on a slow roll!

I am slowly getting myself back onto the scrapbooking wagon. Geez, when I fall off I take all my mojo into the abyss with me. But this is the second layout this year so I am struggling to slowing pull myself out.
This layout was inspired by this sketch at Stuck on U sketches.

And here is my layout,

Skyler is going through a stage where he puts on the most "pasted on" smile ever whenever the camera comes out. this year when they went to see Santa Neal has started to mimic it..... Adrienne said about this picture"This was as good as we were going to get." But aren't they totally adorable with their big fake smiles!
I love this paper. It was in the haul that was recently gifted me. I was so hoping that the embossing would pop and I used Stampin Up pastels to do the trick.  I am sad because you can not see how wonderful the blue circles are. I embossed, then inked, then used dazzling diamonds glimmer mist...I promise you it looks like glistening snow... I am also adding this to the button challenge at Scappin n Chattin.
Thanks for taking the time to visit me.
I hope somewhere you find some inspiration to scrap your memories today!

Coming february 3.... a new challenge blog!

I love the idea of this new challenge blog. Craft Hoarders Anonymous. Gloria Stengel Designs encourages you to use your stash on the twice monthly challenges. You may submit multiple projects and it is a wide open project list...layout, card mixed media etc. I also love that the winners are chosen not random picked. then on the off chance that I am chosen I know it is for the quality of my work. I look forward to joining in next month.
Head on over and check it it out. while you are there leave a comment for a prize giveaway!

Crushing scrappers block.

I have had the toughest time breaking through my crafters block. I had a project with a deadline that was really kicking my mojo. Finally got that done with minutes to spare, now it is time to attack some layouts. I have begun several but just couldn't get anything glued down. So with a little determination and a lot of encouragement. Here it is.
Yes, Neal is a character. The boy's went with Ben on his parents annual Christmas tree hunt. And then they got to help decorate the tree. Neal apparently did not understand the icicles.
This is for the sketch challenge at.  Lets Capture Our Memories
Here is the sketch.
 And here is my take.....

Thank you for your time. Hopefully the encouragement will keep my mojo flowing.
Have a blessed day.

One last post

I got this last Christmas project done today. Jeff brought home some awesome wooden crates a few months ago and I saw this on pinterest so  a project plan was born.

I really like how it turned out. Jeff cut the boards and built the base for me from one of the crates. I then weathered the boards by soaking steelwool in vinegar overnight and painting  the "rusty vinegar" on the wood. I was amazed at how it actually worked. Then I cut the vinyl a few coats of varnish and it is done! And it will be back with us next year !I put it at the corner of the house as no one uses the front door.

Tomorrow the crew is coming in early so who knows when I will be back. Hopefully when I do get back it will be with some awesome Christmas pictures.
I hope  everyone of you have a blessed Christmas day. Please find a way to slow down and appreciate the gift that God gave us. The gift of unconditional love.

Rainy/Crafty day

The weather has been really messy the last 2 days.... while everyone else is racing around I have been able to stay home and hang out in the craft cave..... yep, tomorrow will begin the total craziness we call family Christmas. I can not wait to have all the kids home.
I have wanted to try my hand at a charger plate. I have seen several done with pretty Christmas trees but just could not find a file I wanted to use. today Miss Kate Cuttables had an awesome file for the freebie. It was exactly what I was looking for. At Thanksgiving my granddaughter Emme gave me a sweet little bow. I really wanted to incorporate it into my Christmas decorations somehow and this was the perfect opportunity. I really hope she likes it. What a fun easy project!
Then I decided to see if I could get a layout done. We had our Christmas program at church this morning and a church member took some really great photos. So I decided to scrap the event..... I know there are no children involved....shocking!
I was inspired by sketch #258 at Creative Scrappers
Here is the sketch.
 And here is my take...
I know I managed to stray quite far... oh well I think all in all I like it. Everything was from my stash...... Yes this long unemployment is helping the scrap hoarder in me to clean some things out...lol

I hope that you have a moment during this busy time of year to stop and count your blessings and enjoy the moment.
