Paper Mixing Bowl

I absolutely love this site. The design team is amazing. I also love the inspiration for this months challenge. Sushi yum, had it for dinner tonight. LOL The recipe is just awesome

 So here is my take

I am not thrilled with this layout, I love the paper though. I used silver glitter glue and black Mr Hueys. I accidentally dripped too much black and when I went to blot it got those awesome darker blue spots. What serendipity! I just love the paper. I do not know if it is because I really do  not like pictures of me or what but I just could not get this layout where I wanted it. I even went out and bought more flowers but just did not like anything I added. Oh well, guess we can not love everything. Hoping maybe I will get up in the morning and something will hit me.

Hope you are in your creative zone today.

You rock!

Can hardly believe 2012 gave me 2  new SILS. We are truly blessed. this layout is when Skyler and Neal gave Ben his guitar pick necklace. They are always so excited to give gifts!
I am going to enter this at Frosted Design where the challenge is music.

As usual lately I used everything from my stash.I am trying hard to use some of this stuff up so I will have room for more!! The guitar and pick were both cut using MTC. And of course my new love music washi tape.
Have a wonderful day!

Rebel

Monday evening before the coldest night of the year Rebel wandered into Adrienne's life. He is about 12 weeks old and very well cared for. He is also very well behaved and house broken. They know he is someones pet but they can not find his home..... so he has a new home for the time being.
I am going to enter this into several challenges this week. Use it Tuesdays challenge is to use the warm colors of red, orange or yellow. I love this site because it encourages you to use your stash. The metal that I used was at least 2 years old. I have been saving it.... LOL. The stickers were a year old or more I bought them at a LSS that is no longer, I bought the paper the same day.All of the paper cuts came out of scrap mountain! Whew digging in the stash for this one!
I am also going to enter it at Creative scrappers I followed their sketch! I love this sketch and just could not figure out how to make it work till now. Here is the sketch.
I am also entering it at Colorful Creations Creative Monthly project. The project this month is to use embossed foil.

Everything was from my stash except the paper cuts. I used a file from Miss Kates Cuttables.
(love their files!).
I hope today is filled with love and laughter for you.

Favorite things

This week I am going to enter a new challenge (for me) it is at Action Wobble Challenges. The challenge is favorite things. I have a hard time narrowing that down. Love frogs and animals in general. But I really have a favorite person and that is my hubby. This is the Valentines card I made for him. I usually try to make him "manly" cards but found this pattern at Miss Kates Cuttables and knew I had to use it. I discovered this site last week doing a blog hop and LOVE her sets! There is even a daily freebie!
I have not been doing as much paper piecing as I used to so this was fun and if you have followed me long you know I love Action Wobbles!

The toad and lily pad are cut from Miss Kates files. I created  the sentiment  in MTC and used Print and cut. Miss Kate had a cut file for one but I decided this would work better for this card.

Thank you for spending your time with me. I hope today brings many blessings.

Authentique take 2

I am doing a second post with just the card in it as the linky would not let me use it twice and change pics so here is the card. If you want details they are in my previous post.

Thanks Brenda

Authentique challenges

I am so excited that I was able to get some paper this week to use on these sketches at Authentique. I loved them the second that I saw them. I had a limited supply of their paper but was able to add to it this week. I am just thrilled with these papers from the Blissful line. I have been wanting to do something with Adrienne and Ben engagement pictures but could just never get them where I liked them. So very happy with this layout in general and that I was able to scrap these awesome pictures. I am also going to enter it in the Colorful Creations random Wednesday challenge to use kraft paper as the background.
The awesome story behind them is that the photographer gave them each a piece of slate and told them to write something about the other, they both wrote AGAPE. Yes they are in love. They just are so sweet together it makes me happy to see this pictures!
  Here is the sketch,
 here is my take,

I splattered the back ground lightly with yellow paint.
All the papers are from the Authentique blissful line including the matting for all the pictures. I just love this line!!
I designed the banner in MTC. And then distressed with Tim Holtz distress inks. I backed them with burlap that was used in the wedding.
The cross is a RAK from a dear friend that arrived as I was finishing up the layout. I love it!

I kept true to my not cutting any paper for a card promise. But I did not go into the crap mountain I used the scraps from the layout.
The sketch....

 My card..

All the paper is from the blissful line. I designed the sentiment in MTC. And then distressed it. The butterflies were from my stash.

I had such a fun day off!
Thank you so much for spending some of your day with me.

Valentines Day is coming!

This is the first of my Valentines cards. I made this for dgd Emme! I truly hope she enjoys it. I used the sketch from MojoMondays. Can you believe it is before noon on Monday and the challenge is complete and photographed and entered!! Yes yes, patting my back a little bit.
 And here is my take.

I actually did cut some paper for this card. A lot of it was from the scrap pile though. The trim was Making Memories Sabrina collection. I used cuttlebug folders conversation hearts and swiss dots.

I made a second Valentines day card for other dgd Olivia! I am entering it into the circle Challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot.

Again everything is from my stash and scrap pile. The hearts on both cards are from some rub ons that have appeared in my craft room. The 2 hearts were cut with MTC and are popped up! The background is conversation hearts and I used swiss dots on the pink circles.

Thank you for taking a minute to let me share.
Have a blessed day!

Recognized twice!!!

Wow!! I am so very excited because my "intentional journal" was selected as a  " Top Two Pick" at Use it Tuesdays!  I am thrilled and then a Flutter by Wednesday my black and white card was recognized!!!!
I am trying to climb out of the pit I fell in for the last little while it is called the flu.....ugh...... it seems like I take one step forward and 2 steps back in getting back into the swing of things. BUT...... I think I may be on the positive side of this thing and get on with the business of life!!!
I went to my first crop last weekend. What fun that was. It was at my church and it was a Friday night all day Saturday deal! I really loved it and got a good bit accomplished. this is the first time I have ever tried to craft "on the road" so was not nearly as prepared as I should have been. I managed to get 5 layouts mostly done, they need a bit here and there to finish them (mostly journaling)We have picked dates to do it again in February so I should be able to get a lot more accomplished simply because I know what to expect. It is also going to be nice that I will have Saturday morning to get anything cut or gathered from home to finish up what I start on Friday. What a awesome gift to get to have the room for 2  days!!
So on to the two projects that actually got finished. this is a card for my secret sister. A yahoo group I am a member of is doing a 52 card challenge and this week the challenge was 3 buttons.
This was a super simple layout from our photo booth pictures. All the papers and embellies were from my old stash! And the journaling and arrow were designed in MTC.
  Thanks for stopping by.

Take 2

I finished a layout this morning. Woohoo. Actually enjoyed scrapping EVEN more in a neat space! This is following the sketch at Artful Delight. I always love their layout sketches.

JANUARY LAYOUT SKETCH CHALLENGE ASC #27
This is my take on the sketch.
Almost everything is from the 12 days of Christmas collection from My Minds Eye. The photos are from our photo booth at Christmas. I had Ben DSIL set up his ipad with a free app for us and made sure that everyone got in front of it at least once. It was great fun and I am hoping that it will be a new family tradition.
As always thanks for spending a portion of your day with me
I hope it will be a blessed one for you.

2013 Hard already.......

Yesterday was a hard day to stay "intentional." I am not sure why but just could not keep my motivation going for what I should have been doing. So I made an intentional decision that if I could not make myself attack my to do list that I would attack my craft room and see how far I could get. I am very pleased with the progress that I made in the room. And I am pleased that by making an intentional choice I was able to redeem the day and though when my head hit the pillow there were things I wish I had accomplished all in all I feel like the day was a successful one and that is all that matters to me. This is what I need to do to keep depression at bay!
Okay onto the crafting part of this crafty blog. I made a card last night and was going to post but alas battery in camera was dead. I made this for a black and white challenge for a yahoo group I belong to. I am going to enter it in Flutter by Wednesdays "something new" challenge. I have visited this site many times but never entered. The reason WOW there are some extremely talented people in that challenge. There are a lot that can COLOR! (We all know that is not something I do well at all....) so I have always been intimidated. But I decided that I would put myself out there this week.
I created this card to accompany a prize that I owe someone in my yahoo group. I cut the butterfly using my zing with MTC. This was a new file  for me. The black pearls are also new. Who would ever have thought that I would want black pearls! The butterfly is cut from a subtle glitter paper but it does not show well in the picture.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today,
and take a moment to be intentional in your choices today.

Challenge number 2!

This is a layout for a recipe challenge at the Paper Mixing bowl. This is my first time visiting this blog. If you have never checked out the blog you need to stop by. I was blown away by the work of the DT. I humbly submit my layout that meets the recipe.

I used the challenge colors of red white and green.
I added a bow and also have tons of snowflakes not only are they on the paper but I put a glitter ribbon with snowflake on it over the red flags. Also the cord that everything is "hung" on is metallic.
I journaled about a tradition. When my kids were young Jeremy played Santa and  handed out the presents. This year he passed the honor down to his daughter Olivia. She let Emme assist her. Was really fun to watch them enjoy the task so much. Also the stocking is actually a gift tag that I made this year. I made them all the same since I needed so many. I hope that I followed the recipe correctly?????
Thank you so very much for taking the time to visit my blog.
I hope for you a truly blessed 2013.

First challenge of 2013

I have never entered a challenge at The Use it Tuesday site so excited to try something new on the first day of the new year. The challenge was to start thinking about 2013 and to make a project using my stash.  This is super simple but meets the guidelines. I have chosen the word "intentional" as my word for 2013. One of my intentions is to journal with more purpose. So I decided to make this to get me off to a good start. The notebook is one that came in a 2 dollar grab bag at Michaels a ways back. I covered it with craft paper from the stash. When I was covering it I was transported back to my childhood when we had to cover our books for school and I used paper bags. Every stamp that I used on the project was previously uninked. The alphabet is one that was given to me from a fellow scrapper from her stash since she has gone totally digital. No telling about the butterfly and flowers. Had actually almost finished this journal when the internet went down. we were trying to figure it out what was wrong and I found the butterfly on the floor  in the alcove next to the router stand.... I love it and it makes me happy so decided that finding it was serendipity and it needed to go on the project. The first page is going to be a copy of yesterdays blog post listing the 12 things I intend to be intentional about this year.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.
I hope for you a truly blessed 2013.
